April 2005

Jai Jinendra,

Over the past eighteen months we have been giving you regular updates on the construction of the Shikharbandhi Jinalaya at Oshwal Centre. Visitors to Oshwal Centre have seen the rise of the magnificiently carved structure rise up from the ground and take shape into a beautiful home for our Tirthankars. The DREAM has finally turned into REALITY. We are now only about just over three months away from the completion of the Deraser. In this report we bring you not only the present status of construction, but also the details of the proposed programmes for the Pratishtha Mahotsav in August 2005.

  • The Deraser and most of the hard landscaping works are scheduled to be finished by late July 2005 / early August 2005.
  • The interior works on the Kesar Room are almost complete and it should be fully functional very shortly.
  • The work on the construction of Car Park for the Deraser has already commenced and is expected to be completed by the end of April 2005 / early May 2005.
  • The assembly and fitting of the main Dome has already commenced and is progressing well.

  • Contracts have also been awarded for Phase 4 which involves the soft landscaping works.
  • The Pratimas have been sculpted in accordance with our instructions in Jaipur and arrangements are being made to move them to the site where the "Anjan Shalaka" ceremonies will take place.
  • The "Anjan Shalaka" ceremonies will take place, under the supervision of our esteemed Maharajsahebs, on TUESDAY 10th May 2005 at place called KAILASHNAGAR, District Sirohi, Rajasthan , India .
  • After the Anjana Shalaka ceremonies the Pratimas will be taken to Ahmedabad and will be kept there until the end of June 2005.
  • Arrangements have already been made in Ahmedabad for the requisite daily "pujan" of the Pratimas.
  • At the end of June 2005 the Pratimas will be brought to London by air and taken to Oshwal Centre in a religiously appropriate manner. The Pratimas will be seated in the Oshwal House until 10th July 2005.
  • On Sunday 10th July 2005 the Pratimas will be moved and seated in the Rang Mandap after performance of the Snatra Pooja and the "Rang Mandap Pravesh" ceremony . The Pratimas will remain in the Rang Mandap until the " Garbh Gruh Pravesh" ceremony.
  • The auspicious "Garbh Gruh Pravesh" ceremony or the "Entrance Ceremony" for seating the Pratimas in the "Garbh Gruh" or the inner sanctum will take place Wednesday 24th August 2005.
